Today I went to the writing center; it went alright I guess. They say you can go at any point in the writing process, but I think it is probably best to go once you have your rough draft back with the instructor’s comments; that way they can help you fix what’s wrong. We just went over the rubric and tried to look up some secondary sources that would support my argument. We didn’t exactly have the best of luck, but hey, I got two bonus points. So there is a bright side! I definitely plan on going back after we get our rough drafts handed back. I think they will be able to help me out more at that point.
I think I better start writing my paper right after I’m done with this blog. I’m just kind of overwhelmed and don’t really know where to start. I feel like everything I do is wrong; it’s pretty depressing. Every time I write a paper I feel like I am just bullshitting the whole thing. But, I guess that’s what writing is all about; just making stuff up as you go along and hoping for the best. I mean, I have a basic idea of what I want to say, I just have problems putting it on paper. Well, on a screen I guess.
Okay, I should probably get started on this thing and stop talking about it. Wish me luck, because I’m definitely going to need as much as I can get!
good luck with the paper!! :-) oh, and, do you have any information regarding the psych survey thing? hahaha i kinda wanna sign up for the paid surveys! I was looking for it online but i couldn't really find any info on it :-(
ReplyDeletepaid surveys? what is that?! ha that sounds pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteI do have to agree, I feel like most of my writing is bullshitting the whole time, too.
I have not gone to the writing center yet, but I have an appointment via carmen for tomorrow. It was the only one available to I had to take it. I hope I still get credit for doing it via carmen and I really hope they can help me develop my paper.
Writing center is really helpful for my paper. They gave me a lot of suggestions about my paper. I like to talk with them.
ReplyDeleteGodd luck for your paper~~
Bea, hmmm the only thing that I can think of would be to go to the Psych Building or Lazenby Hall and look on the bulletin boards. They usually have papers posted on them about paid studies. :)
ReplyDeleteKristina, I know what you mean about the writing center hardly ever having any appointments. It's really frustrating!
