Blog 43: Everybody Loves a Phony

Thanks for the feedback on my title and opening sentence today; I got some good responses! I think I’m going to stick with my original title, Everybody Loves a Phony. I actually thought of it while watching Everybody Loves Raymond. I like the title because I think it’s ironic and something that would make me want to find out more. Well, here’s my introduction:
The dating world can easily be compared to Hollywood: full of people putting on an act, like they’re getting paid for it. So you may ask yourself, if it’s a world full of phonies, how can I find someone real? The answer is, if you want someone to be open and honest with you, try doing it yourself. I know it’s hard to be yourself when you meet someone new; you want to make a good first impression. However, who says you can’t make a good first impression by being yourself? If your plan is to have a long-lasting relationship, then don’t start it off with secrets and lies. Now, I’m not saying that the first time you meet someone is the time to unleash all your “crazy” on them. We all have our quarks and our emotional baggage, but it should be unleashed gradually. In my opinion, once that person knows everything about you, and sticks around, you’ve got yourself something pretty special.
Well that’s what I’m thinking for my opening paragraph and title. I guess I have a whole lot more work ahead of me. Wish me luck and good luck to everyone!
