Blog 40: Timely

Today I have to argue about why my Common Place topic of, the problems hiding who you are can cause in a relationship, is timely. Being timely basically means that the argument is worth hearing at this point in time. For example, it wouldn’t be logical to argue that women in America should have the right to vote. Obviously women have had that right for almost a century now, so arguing about it now would be silly. Timeliness means being current.
I believe that my topic for my article is timely because I feel it is a current issue. You can turn on the radio and hear Rihanna singing “Take a Bow,” a song about a man putting on a huge act and breaking her heart. You can turn on the television or go to the big screen and see it there. I actually just saw, Just Go With It, which is a very good example; a little extreme, but a good example nonetheless. In my opinion, today’s music, television shows, and movies reflect today’s issues.
I feel as though now is good time to discuss this topic because so many people lie and hide things about themselves to get the person they want and then lose them once the truth comes out. If people were just themselves this would not be an issue. However, the world is full of actors and actresses, and I’m not talking about Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, I’m talking about the normal people you see and meet every day.
